Who we are

Beech & Bolster is a trading name of Paneltech Industries Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (no. 08887054). We are the “controller” responsible for your personal information.

What we collect and why

When you send an enquiry using our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), what your enquiry is about, your message and any photos you upload. We use these to reply to you and to prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

When you request an order from your basket, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), postcode, any notes, and the details of the pieces you've designed, including a picture of each as it appeared on your screen. We use these to confirm the details and the exact price with you, and then to make and deliver your order. Our lawful basis is taking steps before a contract and performing that contract.

When you email or call us, we keep what you tell us so that we can help you, on the same basis.

Records of orders and payments are kept because the law requires us to keep accounting and tax records.

We don't send marketing emails unless you've asked us to, and we never sell your information.

What's stored on your device

We don't use cookies. Your basket (including pictures of the pieces you've designed) and your choice of accent colour are saved in your browser's local storage, so they're still there when you come back. This information stays on your device; we can't see it until you send us an order request. You can remove it at any time by emptying your basket or clearing your browser's site data.

Website analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the website is used. It counts page views anonymously and doesn't use cookies. For each page view it records the page address, the website that sent you, an approximate location (such as country and region), and your browser, operating system and type of device. It doesn't identify you: visitors are counted using a code created from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with organisations that help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:

• Vercel Inc. hosts this website, runs our contact and order forms, and provides the analytics described above.
• Resend delivers the emails sent from our forms.
• Our email and IT providers, who store the emails we send and receive.
• Delivery companies, if your order is sent by courier (your name, address and phone number).
• Our accountants and professional advisers, where needed.

Some of these providers are based in, or use servers in, the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the UK, it's protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the ICO's International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't lead to an order: up to 2 years after we were last in touch.
• Photos you send us: deleted once they're no longer needed for your quote or order.
• Orders, invoices and payment records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or transfer it to you or someone else. You can also object to us using it on the basis of our legitimate interests. To do any of these, email sales@paneltech.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

We'll update this page if the way we use your information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
