Forty years of joinery, finished by hand.
Beech & Bolster is the upholstery house of Paneltech, an established family business in Clevedon, North Somerset. We build the frame and we upholster it — under one roof, by people who know both trades.
A joinery first
It started with a workshop in 1986.
Paneltech began in 1986 as a small joinery workshop in Clevedon. Forty years on it is still a family business — only now the workshop runs to 15,000 square feet, where our joiners make bespoke furniture and joinery for retail, healthcare, commercial and residential clients.
Every Beech & Bolster frame is made there: solid hardwood, square and true, built to be re-covered rather than replaced. Because we make it ourselves, the shape can be drawn to your wall and the size cut to your bed.

The upholstery
Finished by traditionally trained hands.
Our upholstery is led by Felicity Tran. Felicity trained at the renowned Traditional Upholstery Workshop in Carmarthenshire and has run Felicity Tran Bespoke Upholstery since 2014, bringing traditional techniques to antique and contemporary pieces alike.
It's that pairing that lets us re-upholster as well as make: a joiner to put a tired frame right, and an upholsterer to rebuild it properly — hand-stitched, buttoned and piped.
